About the coach

Meet Coach Kanou

Coach Kanou is the founder of Ace Futbol Lab, bringing a decade of coaching and a full competitive playing career to every session he runs across Dallas and Fort Worth.

Born in Bafoussam, Cameroon, he grew up in a soccer family and carried the game with him to the United States. In Western Pennsylvania he earned all conference and all WPIAL honors, competing in one of the region's most demanding high school circuits.

At Point Park University he developed into a starting center back and was named captain as a senior, leading the Pioneers to a 15 and 3 record, the best season in program history. He carried his playing career forward in the UPSL and the NPSL before turning to coaching full time.

Ten years of coaching later, the last eight spent building his own private training program, Coach Kanou works with players one on one and in small groups. He believes technique and confidence are built in the same hour, and he measures a session by what a player believes about themselves when it ends.
